Codogno – April 4, 2024 – The Giuseppe Novello International Satire and Humor Prize is reaching a significant milestone. From all corners of the globe, participants from some 40 nations, from Indonesia to South America, from Russia to Canada, are contributing to the success of the competition.<\/span><\/p>\n Indeed, with more than 150 entrants to date, the prestigious competition curated by the City of Codogno continues to prove its attractiveness and international relevance. Entries are still open and artists are invited to submit their<\/span> work exclusively online by April 30, 2024.<\/strong><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n After the closing of entries, the online voting phase will take place in addition to the expert jury evaluations. The winners will be announced at a special ceremony in November in Codogno, where the talent and creativity of the competing artists will be celebrated.<\/span><\/p>\n “It is amazing to see so much creativity in the cartoons we have received so far,” declares Culture Councilor Silvia Salamina. “This year more than ever, the Novello Prize is confirmed as a showcase for talented artists from all over the world, offering them the opportunity to share their views and uniting cultures through humor and satire.”<\/span><\/p>\n “For the current edition, the theme of artificial intelligence is at the center of the submitted works. It is clear that this topic is arousing strong interest, and many of the cartoons received reflect a critical view of this new “technology,” often highlighting its controversial aspects and possible negative implications, although an encouraging note with respect to the potential of this tool is not entirely absent,” stress Elena Verdelli (artistic director) and Stefano Massaro (communications director).<\/span><\/p>\n The Codogno Novello Prize is supported by the Region of Lombardy, the Codogno Salute polyclinic, the Banca Popolare di Lodi Foundation, and is sponsored by the Department for Digital Transformation of the Prime Minister’s Office and the Province of Lodi. As collaborations are those of the Gerundia Academy of Lodi, from which the cartoons of the students of the drawing courses are expected, and the Rotary Club of Codogno, promoter of the first edition of the contest.
